a little about me

making it through, one coffee at a time

Hey, I’m Leah!

I’m a Southern girl turned Midwestern.
I married into Chiefs kingdom & wouldn’t have it any other way. I have the most incredible husband and stay at home with our two perfectly handsome baby boys.

I am a lover of Starbucks, Target, candles, flowers and earrings; oh and fuzzy blankets… for good measure. I also collect dream catchers, turtles and coffee mugs!

I have a passion for connecting with other moms who have young kids, because I know how difficult and lonely it can be at times! I love to lift you up and help you feel like yourself again. The goal is to remember what it’s like to be

more than just “mom.”

As I work my way through motherhood... I am always looking for new fun things to do, for both me and my kids! I got to thinking and thought, why not make it a "thing?" So here I am, venturing into mommy blog territory. I hope you join me and follow along as I share my new finds. Feel free to ask questions or make requests for things you would like to see! I'm glad to have you here.

Love, Leah

Dry Roses and Diary

What can I expect?

My content will include a variety of:

Recipes

Tips, tricks, techniques & tutorials

Makeup, skincare & hair

Arts & Crafts

Activities for young children

Holiday inspired fun

Things to do/places to go

Whatever creative ideas my boys and I come up with

You can also expect that I will be winging it, just like I do my daily life. I am not a professional cook, makeup artist, or mom. But I put my whole heart into everything I do. I am in no way perfect, and don't expect you to be either. I think society puts so much pressure on moms to be "perfect" all the time. A perfect house, perfect kids, have a perfect postpartum body, look perfectly beautiful at all times, etc. So I am here to be real and transparent with you. Some days will be better than others, but I really am just a struggle bus mom, making it through one day and one cup of coffee at a time.
